The Natural Swimming Hole At The Slab In Texas Will Take You Back To The Good Ole Days
There are no shortage of natural swimming holes in Texas if you’re looking to make a splash during summertime. Each one has its own unique attributes that make it bucket-list worthy in its own right. After all, it gets so hot in the Lone Star State that we’re pretty desperate to cool off at times! One particularly special spot for a summertime swim is The Slab Swimming Hole in Kingsland. This place has sandy beaches, unique granite formations, and pristine waters, all of which combine to take you back to the good ole days.

You’ll want to make sure to wear shoes with good traction when you visit this swimming hole in Texas. Wet rocks can be slippery! Always use caution around fast-moving water, especially after rainfall. Rapids often occur after lots of precipitation and they can sweep away even expert swimmers. Also, heavy rain can flood the road, so you need to be careful when driving. The Llano River is quite prone to flooding even in good weather conditions, so always keep an eye on local weather alerts before heading out.
You can definitely wander off to find a more secluded spot to hang out. However, make sure to stay on the waterbed area. Private property surrounds The Slab and you don’t want to get in trouble for trespassing.

What is summer in Texas like?
We'll admit it: as much as we love the Lone Star State, summer in Texas can be a bit miserable. Summer can be incredibly hot and incredibly humid here, with July temperatures rarely reaching below 90°F. However, that doesn't mean you can't have fun! From our water parks to our natural swimming holes to our indoor attractions, there are plenty of ways to beat the heat and still have fun despite the mugginess outside.
