Instead of flicking through the same TV channels all night long, why not bring first-run movies straight to your living room? Alamo Drafthouse might be physically closed, but technology has allowed them to stream films for all to enjoy. Select locations are also open for delivery and curbside pickup of scrumptious entrees and movie snacks!
Although our beloved Alamo Drafthouse is temporarily closed, they're bringing a virtual cinema straight to your living room! That doesn't sound much different from just turning on the TV, but these are first-run movies that normally would only be available at the theater.
On their website, you'll simply click the 'Streaming Movies' tab to get started. From there, you'll choose a film, select the nearest city, and pay what you can.
Whether you're in the mood for a critically-acclaimed film like "Bacurau" or totally offbeat creature feature such as "Godmonster of Indian Flats," rest-assured there's something for everyone. You'll know exactly what you're in for, with thorough descriptions, trailers, curated preshows, and even the occasional cast and crew q&a to set the scene with no stone unturned.
Movies and snacks go together like peanut butter and jelly, so Austin residents can rejoice knowing their favorite Drafthouse bites are available for delivery and curbside pickup. They're hoping to add more locations over the coming weeks, so don't sulk if you live elsewhere!
Chow down on chicken wings, sandwiches loaded with all the obligatory fixins, and crispy fries during the movie, no care in the world about making a mess or chewing too loudly. Perks of being at home, are we right?
For the kiddos bored out of their minds, printable activity sheets promise hours of entertainment. Crossword puzzles, word searches, spot-the-difference challenges, and many more fun brain games feature characters from Frozen II, The Lion King, Incredibles 2, and other popular kid movies.
You can also support the cinema by shopping their line of pop culture merchandise. This collaboration with Mondo boasts items like Gremlin mugs, graphic tees, and a National Parks puzzle.
Keep in mind that not all of the films are suitable for all ages. Check out the rating beforehand if you have children! Visit the cinema’s website or Facebook page to learn more.
