It’s rare to find a swimming hole in Texas that hardly anyone knows about, but there are a few hidden gems remaining. One such place is Stillhouse Hollow Lake, one of the most remote lakes in Texas. This pristine oasis is a nature lover’s paradise, and it will quickly become your new favorite escape.
Please note: water levels on the lake are often too low for swimming and boating, so be sure to check before you go. Also, zebra mussels are common here, and draining of boats and other equipment is required by law. Visit the lake’s website or Facebook page for more information, including campground fees and a full list of amenities.
Have you ever been to Stillhouse Hollow Lake? If so, we’d love to hear all about your experience. Tell us in the comments! Don’t forget to check out our previous article for a great restaurant to try while you’re in the area.
