Texas is just a beautiful state in every way possible – however, we tend to focus primarily on its natural landmarks rather than those crafted by man. Not to say there’s anything wrong with that since our state is so incredibly full of landscape diversity from mountains to wetlands, deserts to beautiful bodies of water. But I think some homage should be paid to the architectural brilliance that gets overlooked so often. Here are 8 of the most enchanting man made wonders in Texas.
It may look like the Taj Mahal, but it's a Hindu temple right here in Texas. It took 28 months, 33,000 pieces of hand-carved marble and limestone, and 22 acres of land to build.
We're the proud home of the largest capitol building in the country (yes, it's larger than the US Capitol!). It spans 360,000 square feet, stands at a whopping 308 feet tall, and consists of nearly 400 rooms.

Along with being one of the most iconic buildings in Texas, the Alamo is also an architectural wonder. It's made almost entirely of limestone, a beautiful and rare mineral rock. It was recently named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This famous building was the first domed stadium in the entire world. It was given the name "The Eighth Wonder of the World" for this reason.
