Some of my fondest childhood memories involve Sunday morning grocery runs with my mom. While we never shopped at Piggly Wiggly, I do remember seeing the stores every now and then and thinking the little pig logo was just so cute. If you used to stock up on essentials at Piggly Wiggly, you’ll be pleased to learn the chain is making a comeback in the Lone Star State. There are already three stores open, with more potentially in the works. Keep scrolling for everything you need to know about Piggly Wiggly in Texas.
If you have fond memories of shopping at Piggly Wiggly, you'll be happy to know that those memories don't have to stay in the past. The grocery chain is making a comeback in the Lone Star State, with three North Texas locations opening in the past year or so.

While the Memphis-based company first came to Texas in the early 1900s, over the years, locations began closing one by one until none remained in the state. The reason for the comeback after such a long hiatus is because C&S Wholesale Grocers, who owns Piggly Wiggly, made an agreement with Kroger to purchase 26 grocery stores in Texas.
Not only is there a wide selection of items to choose from - including fresh produce, meats and cheeses, and more - but the store is also clean and organized, and the employees are welcoming and eager to provide assistance.
What's even better about Piggly Wiggly is the prices. You'll find many of the same brands of products sold at larger grocery stores, but for a fraction of the cost.
Piggly Wiggly proudly displays its policy of purchasing items at cost, then adding only 10% at checkout. This shows just how much the store cares about its customers - and shoppers really appreciate the transparency.
Visit the Piggly Wiggly website for more information about current and future Texas store locations.
