The fictional world of Jurassic Park has come to life right here in Texas, and it promises to be an event of wild proportions. Visit the Houston Zoo before September 2 to get up-close-and-personal with nearly 20 life-size, animatronic dinosaurs.
Through September 2, life-size animatronic dinosaurs are taking over the Houston Zoo. Seventeen of the prehistoric creatures have traveled through time to make their homes amidst lush greenery and plants that haven't existed since the dawn of time.
Among other species, you'll encounter the Utahraptor, Stegoceras, and Tyrannosaurus Rex. They're fully-robotic, with heads, arms, and tails that move in an uncannily realistic fashion.
Informational plaques will help you identify connections between modern-day zoo animals and these ancient beasts. Further your newfound knowledge by visiting one of three bird exhibits afterward — after all, they are descendants of dinosaurs.
Tickets are $5.95 for members and $6.95 for everyone else, zoo admission not included. Looking to hang out all day long? Consider a Value Pass, which grants you unlimited access to the Dinosaurs exhibit, a souvenir bracelet, carousel rides, and the opportunity to meet the friendly, furry, four-legged residents. This special offer is $24.95 for adults and $22.95 for children.
