We just talked about how amazing this year’s bluebonnet season is going to be, but there are so many other gorgeous wildflowers that deserve recognition. Wildseed Farms in Fredericksburg boasts over 1,000 acres of multicolored blooms unlike anything you’ve ever seen.
Sitting on over 1000 acres of land, Wildseed is the nation's single largest wildflower farm. From March until October, families visit from all over Texas to get a firsthand look at the breathtaking blooms.
Bluebonnets might be our state flower, but a wide variety of other crops grow here as well. Enter a sea of color, with poppies, tulips, sunflowers, and lavender stretching endlessly into the distance.
Since 2015, the farm has also been serving as a vineyard. Several different types of grapes that thrive in the Hill Country climate were successfully planted, and a tasting room is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
You can even take a glass of wine or beer to-go while exploring the trails! Watch the farmers work, leisurely sip your bubbly, and revel in the immense beauty of Mother Nature.
While you can't pick the flowers, don't be disheartened - Wildseed boasts one of the region's largest live nurseries. Trees, shrubs, annuals, and basically every other plant imaginable make the perfect additions to your landscape.
Seeds are also available for purchase! Plant your very own wildflower gardens, taking inspiration from one of many informative catalogs offered to guests.
