One of the best scenic overlooks in Texas can be found at the underrated Sheldon Lake State Park & Environmental Learning Center in Houston. The 82-foot-tall John Jacob Observation Tower features two decks that showcase sweeping panoramic views of not only the park, but the entire Houston skyline and even the San Jacinto Monument.
