Whether we admit it or not, all of us wonder what it feels like to speed around a NASCAR track like the Tasmanian Devil. Fortunately, there’s a place right here in Texas where that dream becomes reality. K1 Speed is a family-friendly go-kart facility in Houston that allows for safe, yet totally exhilarating healthy competition.
K1 Speed is located at
14900 Northwest Fwy, Houston, TX 77040.
The 50,000 square-foot facility houses a quarter-mile track and fully electric karts that reach speeds of nearly 45 mph. Motorsport enthusiasts and novice drivers alike turn into NASCAR champions behind the wheel.
No age limit has been set; only a height requirement of 48" for kids and 58" for teens and adults. Junior karts don't go above 20 miles per hour, so parents need not worry about the safety of their little ones.
Whether you're aiming to be #1 on the scoreboard or simply having fun, racing at K1 speed is an unforgettable experience for all. That's precisely why so many people choose it as a venue for birthdays, bachelor parties, and even corporate events.
Racing all day long to really try and make a name for yourself? Make a pit stop at the on-site cafe and refuel some delicious, energy-packed snacks and beverages.
If the wait is particularly long, spend some time in the arcade until it's your turn to drive. Children under four feet tall can also enjoy the games to stay occupied and avoid feeling left out.
Want to really hone your skills? Join the racing league and go head-to-head against the very best drivers. Work your way up to first place in Houston for a spot in the World Championship, the winner of which receives a $15,000 cash prize.
