The phrase “like a scene from a horror movie” isn’t typically how people want to hear a restaurant described as – unless, of course, said restaurant was designed by and for horror fans. That’s precisely the case with Coffee House of Hel, a relatively new, horror-themed coffee shop in El Paso. Between the frightening décor, classic horror films playing nonstop, and scary good drinks with names like “Pennywise” and “Beetlejuice,” it’s Halloween year-round here.

Opened in mid-2020 by horror loving couple Helen and Robert Hinojos, Coffee House of Hel celebrates Halloween all year long.
You'll find the coffee shop on Lee Trevino Drive in El Paso.
The inside looks like something straight out of a scary movie - a description that would turn customers away from a normal restaurant, but in this case, is a major selling point.
Memorabilia from classic films like Nightmare on Elm Street and Jason covers the walls, and there's always a horror flick playing on the shop's flat screen TV.

You won't believe how realistic much of the décor is.
One of the most popular drinks is the "Pennywise," which is made with Heath's toffee, white chocolate chips, and orange sprinkles on top. For those with special dietary needs, sugar free syrups and alternative milks (oat, soy, and almond) are available.
Simple, yet delicious snacks such as muffins, cupcakes, cookies, and chips are also on the menu.
