Despite being one of the last states to enter the Union, a lot has happened in Texas over the past 173 years. Let’s take a moment to celebrate our homeland and remember some of the most noteworthy historic events, attractions, and accomplishments of the Lone Star State.
Texas kids today will never understand the exhilarating experience that was a night out at the Eighth Wonder of the World. Both the team and the dome are long gone, but they'll go down in history forever.
Before its name was changed to Minute Maid Park, the field where we all gather to watch the Astros play was called Enron Field. Just a month after 9/11 shook the nation, over 4,000 people lost everything they had when Enron stock plummeted. A sad time for Texas, that's for sure.

Okay, technically we still get to do that since it's been replaced by Macy's, but we can all agree that it just isn't the same.

The same principle applies here, but the nostalgia that came along with seeing these department store windows filled with Christmas trees and fake snow during wintertime was lost forever when Dillard's was born.
