It was different than most asylums in that the patients weren't locked in cells for most of the day. They slept in normal bedrooms and had access to much of the building - almost like a residential treatment center with the goal of rehabilitation rather than institutionalization. While that was most definitely a positive thing, it means their spirits are roaming the halls as we speak instead of being confined to a single room.

Libraries are already creepy enough as it is, so a library in an insane asylum has to be one of the spookiest places on the planet. Crews took EVPs in this room and heard the voices of both children and adults as well as an old-fashioned bicycle horn despite nobody else being in the building.
