As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. There are plenty of ghost towns in Texas that keep spooky season going all year, but none are more iconic than Terlingua. Hidden way out west amid the lonesome highways and towering mountains, this former rough-and-tumble mining camp is home to just about 100 people today (living residents, that is.) Ghosts, on the other hand, run amok in Terlingua, and you can meet some of them firsthand when you stay in Lorna’s Ghost Town Cabin, a unique Vrbo in Texas.
Halloween may only come around once a year, but ghost towns are spooky no matter the season.
One of the most famous ghost towns in Texas, Terlingua, was once home to cowboys and outlaws, but today, its streets are relatively empty...save for the occasional tumbleweed blowing in the wind.
Terlingua has a population of just over 100 in the present day, and when you stay in Lorna's Ghost Town Cabin, you can experience the rich history - and eerie stillness - of the Wild West outpost firsthand.
Located just minutes from the iconic Big Bend National Park, this vacation rental is the perfect place to unplug and get away from it all for a while (and maybe spot a ghost or two while you're at it).

Accommodating up to four guests in two bedrooms, the home is delightfully cozy, with a unique small-town charm that will make you never want to leave.
There are three total beds: one queen in the master bedroom, and two twins in an upstairs sleeping loft.

Guests will enjoy a full range of kitchen appliances as well as high-quality linens and towels, internet access (a rare commodity in these parts!), and A/C and heat.
Rather than feeling cramped, however, the home derives much of its quaintness from its intimacy.
The comfortable living room seating is perfect for getting some much-deserved R&R...especially after spending the day hiking at the nearby national park.
Somewhere in the foothills of those towering peaks lies one of the most haunted cemeteries in Texas, where hundreds of deceased mercury miners and Spanish flu victims are buried.

Feel free to carve out some time to explore the grounds...if you're brave enough, that is.
In Terlingua, the dead just may outnumber the living!
