We Texans take our tacos pretty seriously, always seeking out only the highest quality and most authentic of them all. That’s exactly what you’ll find at El Tiempo Taqueria, a quaint neighborhood market in Houston. Family-owned and operated, El Tiempo Taqueria is an authentic neighborhood grocery store and restaurant serving the Greater Houston area since 2006. Despite its unassuming exterior, the market easily makes some of the best tacos in Houston.
Upon entrance, you'll notice a no-frills dining area with vibrant, colorful decor and a few sets of tables and chairs. Feel free to peruse the rest of the market before grabbing a bite to eat!
Both flour and corn tortillas are made fresh daily, and the unparalleled quality is apparent after just one bite. Choices of meat include barbacoa, tripitas, guisado, and several other options that many taco shops don't offer.
Cheese, shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes, and cilantro are some of the toppings available to choose from. It's certainly not an extensive list, but good tacos don't need a whole lot of extra fluff.
Red and green salsas are made from scratch as well, with the perfect balance of tang and refreshment. Add a cold Jarritos on the side, and you've got yourself a solid meal.
Tacos are served seven days a week, from 5:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. - yes, that means breakfast tacos are available! Pick up some authentic Mexican pastries and a steamy cup of black coffee for the ultimate traditional feast.
Other menu items include tortas, fajitas, mole, quesadillas, and so many more delicious options. Most entrees come with Spanish rice, beans, and three tortillas. That's a lot of food, especially considering how inexpensive everything is!
