Nothing says life is slowly returning to normal quite like meeting some of the biggest alligators in America, right? Gator Country in Beaumont is offering private tours of its 20-acre park, keeping families safe while providing a fun activity that gets everyone out of the house. You can even take a boat tour of the nearby Taylor Bayou and observe gators in the wild!
We Southeast Texans have passed this gaping-mouthed roadside attraction more times than we can count while cruising down I-10. It belongs to the one-and-only Gator Country, which has been closed for the past few weeks due to coronavirus.
The park has officially reopened to visitors. However, strict rules are in place to comply with social distancing guidelines. The new process begins with families entering one-by-one into the gift shop.
From there, you'll check in and meet the staff member who will lead your private tour. That's right -- you get to traverse all 20 acres with hardly anybody else around!
Only about 15 families will be in the park at any given time, and tours take about 1-1.5 hours. There are no big shows taking place just yet, but you can still watch alligator feedings and let the kiddos wade in a pool with baby gators.
