In the next few weeks, eye-popping wildflowers will reach their peak brilliance all along the Highland Lakes Bluebonnet Trail. Weaving through six Hill Country towns, the entire scenic drive takes about two hours to complete.

To complete the entire loop, you'll take Highway 16 north from Kerrville to Llano before making a right on Highway 29 going towards Burnet. Turn right again, and head south on Highway 281 to Johnson City, from which point you'll head west on US Highway 290 back to Fredericksburg. Feel free to hop on the trail at any point and customize the trip to your own needs and preferences.
