July 4th is just a few days away, and we’ve discovered an epic event if you don’t have plans yet! Every year, Texas Rowing Center in Austin has an Independence Day kayak trip that sets sail as fireworks erupt over Lady Bird Lake. Spots are extremely limited, so don’t waste any time reserving yours!
Since 1999, Rowing Dock has been every Austin resident's favorite summertime hangout spot. Launch your own watercraft or rent one of several options and set sail on the pristine Lady Bird Lake.
A Full Moon Paddle is offered several times this summer, but an extra special nighttime float is coming to Austin this Independence Day. On July 4, you can enjoy a leisurely kayak ride on Lady Bird Lake and watch the fireworks display from an entirely new perspective.
When dusk falls, the sky will erupt in a brilliant explosion of colors guaranteed to leave onlookers absolutely awestruck. You'll have the best seat in town, with the freedom to move about as you please and take in the show from all different angles. You might even catch a glimpse of the Congress Avenue bats making their nightly appearance!
Reservations must be made in advance through PayPal under the name of your group leader. Spots are still available; however, they'll be going quickly over the next couple of days as we get closer to the holiday. Don't waste any time booking if you're even the least bit interested!
Other events at Rowing Dock include a Bat Paddle, College Day, and pet-friendly "Yappy Hour." Canoes, stand-up paddleboards, fishing kayaks, and paddle boats are also available.
