If you’ve ever wondered what the seemingly ever-present line down West Crosstimbers Street in Houston was for, your curiosity is about to come to an end. All those people are waiting to get inside Flying Saucer Pie Company, the oldest pie shop in Houston. You’ll find some of the best pie in Texas here – a sentiment clearly agreed upon by the entire city. Bring some snacks and entertainment, and take your place in line. Your taste buds will thank you!
Since 1967, Flying Saucer Pie Company has been dishing out the best pie in the business. It's the oldest and longest-running pie shop in Houston, so clearly it's doing something right!
Customers seem to pay attention to the sign, as everyone is always on their best behavior. It's also very much a "come as you are" ordeal. Pajamas and slippers are common attire for those waiting in line!
The shop also offers cheesecake topped with your choice of fresh fruit glaze! What really takes it over the top is the ring of whipped cream around the edges.
Hours are seasonal, as is the menu, so keep up with the shop's website and Facebook page for the most accurate information.
