I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Are you someone who’s fascinated with the Old West? I certainly don’t blame you! I find it fascinating myself and love visiting attractions that stemmed from the wild days of the Old West. In Texas, for example, Enchanted Springs Ranch in Boerne and The Buckhorn Saloon & Museum in San Antonio are just a couple of places where you can experience this bygone era. There’s also an Old West hotel in Texas you can stay at, and it will certainly be a memorable experience!
A visit to The Stockyards in Fort Worth is a visit to the Old West. Listed as a National Register District, it's "Where the West Begins."
Within this district is a hotel that's been around since the days of the Old West. The Stockyards Hotel is historic and one of the oldest hotels in Texas.
Established in 1904, The Stockyards Hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and a place you must spend the night if you're fascinated by Old West culture.
And if you want to feel like one of the celebrities who have spent the night, book the luxurious Celebrity Suite at this 52-room historic yet upscale hotel!
Outlaws Bonnie and Clyde had also stayed here back in 1933. In fact, there's a room named after them! The Bonnie and Clyde Junior Suite offers a king-sized bed, a full bathroom, a sitting area, and views of The Stockyards.
Whether or not you're staying at The Stockyard Hotel (although I really think you should stay here), you can enjoy dining at one of the best steakhouses in Fort Worth.
How would you like to spend a night or longer at this historic Old West hotel in Texas? To learn more, visit Stockyards Hotel’s website and give the Stockyards Hotel Facebook page a follow. And you can book your stay on Hotels.com.
