If you love alligators and are interested in trying something new, head on over to Gator Country in Beaumont. This popular wildlife park offers one of the only alligator boat tours in Texas, taking passengers through gator-infested waters for a thrilling adventure.
Gator Country is known for being home to some of the largest live alligators on Earth, but fewer people are aware the park also offers swamp tours on Taylor Bayou.
This exciting adventure takes passengers on a boat ride through alligator-infested waters, offering the chance to get up close and personal with the amazing creatures in a whole new way.
While there is no guarantee you'll spot any gators, they make their homes here, so the odds are definitely in your favor. If you do see one (or more!) pull out your camera and take a picture - you'll definitely want to remember the moment.
You'll also have the opportunity to observe wood ducks, great blue herons, great horned owls, pileated woodpeckers, giant wasp nests, and many more species of wildlife.
In addition to fauna, the bayou boasts some pretty remarkable flora, too. Thick Spanish moss hangs from towering bald cypress trees, billowing in the wind to create a scene that can only be described as magical.
Swamp tours must be booked at least 24 hours in advance by calling the park at (409) 794-9453. Passengers are advised to bring binoculars, an ice chest with drinks, sunscreen, and mosquito spray.
