We have several animal sanctuaries here in Texas, but few are home to endangered species. This unique preserve in Fredericksburg lets you get up close and personal with beautiful Asian elephants whose days very well might be numbered. See the gentle giants for yourself:
Five beautiful Asian elephants live at The Preserve, where they've been promised a long life full of love and compassion. Visitors have the unique opportunity to get close to these gentle giants, fostering an intimate relationship that knows no species.
You'll gain a hands-on understanding of the hygienic practices necessary to keep elephants healthy. Help give them baths and pedicures, for which your reward will be a big, slobbery kiss.
Intimidating by nature due to their sheer size, they're actually some of the animal kingdom's biggest comics. Just look at this guy's goofy smile as he playfully slurps water straight from the hose!
Little ones have an absolute blast interacting with the creatures. They may not be old enough to understand why preserves exist, but innocence just makes this undeniable connection even more genuine.
Adorable as they might be, the elephants are here for a somber reason we must not forget. Each visit helps increase awareness and spread the critical message of elephant endangerment, so The Preserve is counting on you.
There are only a handful of time slots to visit in the next two months, so get your tickets before it's too late! They're $75 apiece save for children under 3, who are admitted at no cost.
