One takeout bag at a time, drones are taking over the food delivery business. Flytrex, an Israel-based startup, has figured out a way to cut out the middleman (the delivery driver), which cuts down on emissions and creates jobs, as the drones still require human supervision. Here’s everything you need to know about drone food delivery in Texas.
An Israeli-based startup, Flytrex is at the forefront of a food delivery revolution.
Recently, the Federal Aviation Administration gave its approval for Flytrex to expand the program into Granbury, a Dallas suburb that also happens to be one of the best small towns to visit in Texas.

Flytrex has partnered with Brinker International, a local restaurant brand that owns Chili’s Bar and Grill, Maggiano’s Little Italy, Maggiano’s Italian Classics, and It’s Just Wings.
First, a customer places their order via the Flytrex app. Then, Flytrex employees stationed in the restaurant parking lot attach the to-go bag to a cable connected to the drone.
Finally, the drone autopilots to its destination and delivers the food to the customer.
Even more exciting is the fact that Flytrex has only begun to scratch the surface of what's possible. Maybe one day you can get your morning coffee delivered via drone instead of waiting in line every day!
