Outside of work, you can likely find her curled up on with a hot cup of coffee, practicing yoga, baking, or exploring the beautiful Lone Star State (in particular, the vast and mystical West Texas desert).
Zoos across Texas have been offering webcams, Facebook Lives, and other virtual features, but one is taking it a step further while still maintaining safe social distancing measures. The San Antonio Zoo now has a drive-thru experience that allows guests to observe their favorite animals from the comfort of their own vehicle.
Presented by Broadway Bank, this Drive-Thru experience allows animal lovers to enjoy the San Antonio Zoo like never before. You'll see most of what the zoo has to offer while maintaining a safe social distance from others.
For 30 minutes to an hour, observe playful monkeys, colorful birds, majestic elephants, and all your other favorite zoo animals. Their big personalities are sure to put a smile on your face during these uncertain times we're all enduring.
Snack stations are set up along the way to keep your herd fed and happy. Nachos, cotton candy, popcorn, bottled drinks, and other concession stand favorites are perfect to much on while you watch the animals do some grazing of their own.
The zoo has even put together a playlist you can listen to on the drive-thru experience. Just like a guided tour, you'll receive detailed narration of each exhibit -- only this is in the comfort of your own vehicle!
Vehicles must be no larger than a full-size SUV. Maximum specs are 224″ L x 81″ W x 74″ H. If you must exit your vehicle at any point to use the restroom, please wear a face mask.
Are there any restaurants, businesses, or other attractions in Texas you think the world should know about? Head over to our nomination page and give them a shoutout — you just might see your submission featured in an upcoming article!
