Small towns in Texas are rife with nostalgia, and Jefferson is no exception. This charming East Texas community is where you’ll find the Jefferson General Store, a circa-1860 building filled with all sorts of trinkets from the past. You’ll see an old-time candy counter, antiques, a working jukebox, and even a soda fountain where you can enjoy a root beer float or ice cream sundae. What a delicious blast from the past!
If you want more Texas restaurants, make sure to sign up for our weekly dining newsletter. Every Thursday, a new eatery to try in the Lone Star State will be delivered straight to your email. Yum!
Visit the general store’s website or Facebook page for more information, such as current hours.
Have you ever been to the Jefferson General Store? If so, we’d love to hear all about your experience. Tell us in the comments! Don’t forget to check out our previous article for more things to see and do in Jefferson.
