If you love donuts, do-nut waste any time heading over to Gourdough’s in Austin. This unassuming food truck turns out some of the best donuts in Texas, loaded up with all sorts of decadent toppings that range from brownie pieces to fried chicken. Oh, and did we mention they’re as big as your head?
If you have any semblance of a sweet tooth, you must try Gourdough's in Austin. This humble food truck got its start back in 2009, and has grown into a local institution over the years.
Gourdough's specializes in donuts - but these aren't just any donuts. They're as big as your head, and every bite takes you closer to a sugar-filled nirvana.
There are over two dozen specialty creations to choose from. Chocolate lovers rave about the "Black Out" which features chocolate icing, brownie batter, brownie bites, and chocolate chips (or the "Heavenly Hash, with all of the above plus marshmallow cream).
...as well as a plethora of non-chocolate decadent concoctions featuring everything from peanut butter, banana, and bacon (an Elvis classic) to coconut cream filling and cream cheese icing slathered atop donut holes.
Have you ever been to Gourdough’s? Do you think it’s one of the best restaurants in Austin? We’d love to hear all about your experience in the comments! Don’t forget to check out our previous article for a waterfall hike in Austin to tackle after enjoying your donut.
