I feel like I’m my best self with my furry friend by my side. If you agree, then you’ll love this dog-friendly brewery in Houston, Texas. Walking Stick Brewing Company allows both kids and dogs, so you can enjoy a fun outing with the entire family. The beer is out of this world, the food is phenomenal, and the atmosphere is friendly, vivacious, and unforgettable.
Breweries aren't usually a whole-family affair, but Walking Stick Brewing Company in Houston is an exception. You can bring the kids and dogs here, so it's the perfect place to spend an afternoon.
Walking Stick bills itself as a "Texas brewery with Rocky Mountain roots." As such, all of the beers are named after mountains in the iconic range, from the "Bierstadt Blonde Ale," an easy-drinking and mild brew, to the "Humboldt Hazy," a New England-style IPA.
The taproom is open, airy, and spacious, and everyone who steps inside is made to feel like part of the family. A lively, upbeat atmosphere permeates the building, and there are always at least a dozen brews on tap for your sipping pleasure.
Pups are VIPs here. The brewery even offers a water station with bowls, waste bags, and treats, so Fido doesn't have to go hungry while you sip and snack.
Speaking of snacks, the Stick isn't just a brewery - it also offers lots of tasty bites, such as these mouthwatering bagel sandwiches in the late morning and early afternoon.
The brewery hosts regular events such as outdoor yoga, a running club, and even fundraisers for rescued pets! There's no such thing as a dull moment here.
Day or night, you and your pooch will love hanging out at Walking Stick Brewing Company. When the sun goes down and the patio lights come on, man's best friend is perfectly content to lounge on the outdoor furniture and bask in the dim glow.
So if you're in search of an activity that every member of your family can enjoy, look no further. This just might become your new favorite watering hole.
Have you ever visited the Walking Stick? If so, we’d love to hear all about your experience in the comments! Don’t forget to check out our previous article to learn about the nearby Flying Saucer Pie Company, whose pies are so good, there’s often a line down the block.
If you aren’t local to Houston but still want to visit the Walking Stick, you’ll need a place to stay, and I can’t recommend this cozy Greater Heights bungalow enough. It’s just 10 minutes from the brewery and is equal parts quaint and luxurious.
