We’re blessed with so much great pizza here in Texas, but nobody would ever guess one of the very best joints is hiding out in the desert. Locals and travelers alike rave about the pie at Depot Pizza & Deli, an unassuming convenience store in Odessa – and for good reason. Take a slice:

If the flashy digital billboard doesn’t catch your attention first, the ever-growing drive-thru line certainly will. Locals and travelers alike flock to this unassuming convenience store because they know that here in Texas, we don’t judge a restaurant by its exterior.

It appears to be an ordinary gas station, shelves stocked with chips and soft drinks. Keep walking, however, and you’ll discover a seating area with old-fashioned wooden tabletops, faded signage from yesteryear, and friendly staff eager to take your order.

You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, but customers especially rave about the thin & crispy crust. It satisfies your textural needs without being too overpowering, allowing the delicious toppings to really shine through.

Another favorite is the taco pizza. With shredded lettuce, tomatoes, ground beef, cheese, salsa, and regrows beans, it’s a much less messy version of everyone’s favorite Tuesday night meal.

They also take custom orders for special occasions. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so look no further for dinner plans if your sweetheart loves pizza.
