Often times, the smallest towns are harboring the most delicious restaurants. Celina, nestled just outside of Dallas, is one such place. This close-knit community in the Texas Plains is home to Lucy’s on the Square, a historic eatery with comfort food that rivals anything you’ve ever tasted.

Just an hour outside of Dallas sits Celina, a comparatively small town with only about 13,000 residents. Housed in a century-old brick building, Lucy's on the Square is a place where Texas tradition, historic charm, and comfort food all combine in the most perfect way.
Inside, the atmosphere is charming as can be. Vintage Texas-themed memorabilia is plastered all over the walls, and the upbeat chatter of friends and strangers alike permeates the dining room.
From traditional Southern comforts like meatloaf and catfish to innovative dishes such as a 12-ounce burger on rosemary peasant bread, Lucy's appeals to a wide range of appetites. Start your meal with some fried green tomatoes or chips and queso to tame your growling stomach until the main course arrives.
Texas specialties like chicken-fried steak and chicken-fried chicken are almost as nostalgic as they are delicious. Hand-breaded and fried to crispy perfection, these tender, juicy cutlets prefer to be smothered in a homemade country gravy.
You can also get the chicken-fried chicken served up ranch-style. Instead of gravy, it's topped with ranch dressing, homemade salsa, and melted cheddar jack cheese. Add some creamed corn and French fries for a hearty meal your taste buds won't soon forget.
Lucy's takes the most important meal of the day very seriously. Chicken and waffles, eggs benedict, omelets, and croissant sandwiches are just a few of the mouthwatering selections. We can't imagine a better way to kick off the morning!
If you're trying to eat healthy, an entire section of the menu is dedicated to lighter bites. Pictured here is the Strawberry Sriracha salad, with spicy chicken, pecans, and balsamic on the side -- so refreshing! The taco salad is served in a tortilla "bowl" for a unique and delicious spin on a classic dish.
Don't make the mistake of leaving without a slice of Lucy's world-famous pie. From fruity favorites to decadent coconut cream and many more scrumptious flavors, rest-assured there's something for everyone.
Current hours at Lucy’s are 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday. Visit the website or Facebook page for more information.
