We Texans love a good seafood boil – especially when its contents can be customized to our own unique preferences. That’s exactly what The Boiling Crab in Dallas offers, making for a dining experience you’ll never want to leave from.
With roots in the small Texas town of Seadrift, this nationwide chain quickly gained momentum - and for good reason. The Boiling Crab allows guests to build their own seafood boil, making for an entirely customizable dining experience.
The atmosphere looks just like the interior of a boat. Wooden posts tied together with rope, portholes, and fishing nets take patrons on a magical underwater adventure.
Step up to the counter and see just how simple the three-step ordering process is. First up, pick your catch: several types of crab, lobster, shrimp, and crawfish are among the available choices. Next is sauce, with selections such as lemon pepper, garlic, and the Boiling Crab's trademark, "The Whole Sha-Bang!" Spice level is the final decision you'll make, ranging from no heat whatsoever to XXX.
Before eating, everyone puts on a bib adorned with the restaurant's logo. It's become an obligatory tradition over the years, but one that proves necessary - after all, manners won't be your first priority in the face of a meal this scrumptious.
Add some corn on the cob, boiled red potatoes, and sausage for an extra touch of authenticity. Extras like sweet potato fries and steamed rice really take your meal to the next level.
If seafood boils aren't your cup of tea, several other menu items guarantee everyone leaves the table satisfied. Fresh oysters, clams, mussels, gumbo, and fried calamari are just a few options out of many to choose from.
