The following 15 places (in no particular order) are ranked among the best hospitals in Texas. Keep in mind that the best hospital for you is the one that makes you feel most comfortable and cared for, but these destinations simply can’t be beat. This building opened its doors in 1997. The hospital is one of the largest physician-owned hospitals in the nation and is the only in the region.
Not only is University Health System one of the best hospitals in the state... it's also recognized as one of the finest in the nation. This complex sits on the site of the area's first hospital, which started serving the area in 1917.
Interestingly, this hospital opened its doors on World Smile Day (October 2) of 1974. When the hospital was planned, it was located just 15 minutes away from nearly every physician in the area. Prior to the opening of the hospital, the area had a mere six hospital beds per 1000 residents.
Welcome to the region's largest not-for-profit health system. In total, Memorial Hermann Health System has 17 hospitals, a collective that formed in the '90s when Memorial and Hermann systems merged.
