Angelina National Forest covers an expanse of 153,179 acres throughout the counties of Angelina, Nacogdoches, San Augustine, and Jasper. With so much land in the Neches River Basin and along the shores of the 114,500-acre Sam Rayburn Reservoir, there are endless ways to explore the great outdoors here. This includes camping. Boykin Springs Recreation Area is a wonderful spot for hiking and fishing. The campground here offers both tent and trailer camping as well as amenities like drinking water, toilets, hot showers, and picnic tables.

Another park within the Angelino National Forest is the Caney Creek Recreation Area. Here you will find tent camping along with a boat ramp and picnic tables. There are 26 primitive campsites available and you'll be right by the lake.
