Katie Lawrence is a Southeast Texas native who graduated 18th in her high school class with a GPA of 4.25. She attended college in the Houston area and began writing for OnlyInYourState in 2015.
Today, Katie writes, edits, and performs several other tasks for OnlyInYourState and has never been more passionate about a job before. Outside of work, you can likely find her curled up on with a hot cup of coffee, practicing yoga, baking, or exploring the beautiful Lone Star State (in particular, the vast and mystical West Texas desert).
There are few breakfast foods more comforting than the classic combo of biscuits and gravy, and one of my favorite places to enjoy this hearty dish is Flying Biscuit Cafe. With several locations across Texas and other states (the Memorial City restaurant is pictured below), this down-home eatery has some of the flakiest biscuits and the creamiest sausage gravy you’ll ever taste. Plus, they also offer lots of other fun takes on the humble biscuit, so you can rest assured you’ll leave the table happy and full.
If you want more Texas restaurants, make sure to sign up for our weekly dining newsletter. Every Thursday, a new eatery to try in the Lone Star State will be delivered straight to your email. Yum!
Visit the Flying Biscuit Cafe website or the Flying Biscuit Cafe Facebook page for more information, including current hours of operation and a full menu for each location.
Have you ever eaten here? If so, we’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section! Don’t forget to check out our previous article to learn about a massive indoor amusement park that’s just down the road from the restaurant. And if you need a place to stay in Houston, I highly recommend the Post Oak Hotel.
