Here in Texas, we’re kinda fanatical about antiques. Visit any of our small towns and you won’t be able to drive a block without seeing a shop on every corner. Wimberley, with a population of less than 3,000 but made famous by Jacob’s Well, has one of the highest concentrations of antique stores in the state. There are over nine in the city limits, and each one sells some of the most unique treasures you’ve ever seen.
As you're driving down River Road, Star Antique will catch your eye almost immediately. All sorts of items are strewn about on the lawn, but everything has a specific purpose and place. The organized mess continues inside the shop, with everything from quirky garden decor to unique light fixtures for sale. You'll find Star Antique at 301 River Rd.
Aunt Jenny's is most well-known for Christmas ornaments, German decor, and, of course, Jenny herself. She's quite a character, and visitors claim they feel as if they've known her forever after one conversation. She frequently travels to Europe to acquire incredible treasures to sell, and many of the ornaments were made by her or her husband. This is the type of small-town Texas business we love to support. The address is 310A Wimberley Sq
Wimberley, TX 78676.
No matter what you're in the market for, chances are you'll find it at Rescued Relics (along with a million other things you didn't know you needed.) Every room in this charming little house is filled to the brim with diamonds in the rough. New items are always coming in, and the owners are absolutely delightful to deal with. Pay it a visit at 411 River Rd, Wimberley, TX 78676.
4. Queen Bee Fabulous Finds, Uncommon Goods, and Antiquities
No trip to Wimberley is complete without stopping at Old Mill Store. The vintage vibe will immediately whisk you back in time, and you'll spend hours perusing all the handicrafts. There's even a sandwich counter in the back that also serves Blue Bell and homemade Fredericksburg fudge. Nostalgia from every angle is the name of the game here. You'll find the shop at 14 Wimberley Square, Wimberley, TX 78676.
If you grew up in the 50s or 60s and want to take a trip down memory lane, Creekside Vintage is the place to go. Everything from vacuum pot coffee brewers to record players can be found here, making it both a history museum and antique shop. The address is 14015 Ranch Road 12
Wimberley, TX 78676.
Established by a retired schoolteacher and her husband, Jean's has been around since the early 1980s. They've been able to collect some pretty neat treasures over the years, and it would be a shame for them to go unseen. Come take a look at 11552 Ranch Rd 12
Wimberley, TX 78676.
Your antiquing supports a good cause here at Treasures on Twelve. All of the proceeds benefit WAG, or Wimberley Adoption Group, an organization that works to rescue and re-home dogs in the area. Take home a fabulous new decoration, piece of art, glassware, or collectible and help a furry friend all at once! You'll find the store at 13620 Ranch Road 12, Bldg. A
Wimberley, Texas 78676.
This is basically the adult version of a candy store. It's two stories of everything from furniture to handmade greeting cards, and they even provide free snacks + beverages to enjoy as you walk around! The staff is extremely knowledgeable about all the products, and each item is so distinct that it's bound to remind you of a specific person in your life who it was practically made for. The address is 13615 RR 12
Wimberley, TX 78676
The store is volunteer-run and every penny benefits local charities, so your shopping spree is more than justified. Full of eclectic treasures like artwork and home decor, there's no way you'll leave empty handed. Stop by and take a look for yourself at 450 River Rd, Wimberley, TX 78676.
We obviously didn’t cover all the antique shops in Wimberley, so tell us your favorite if we left it out! Where’s your favorite place to go antiquing in the state as a whole?
