Today, Katie writes, edits, and performs several other tasks for OnlyInYourState and has never been more passionate about a job before. Outside of work, you can likely find her curled up on with a hot cup of coffee, practicing yoga, baking, or exploring the beautiful Lone Star State (in particular, the vast and mystical West Texas desert).
A Hill Country trip isn’t complete without some river time, and the treehouse cabins At River Road Treehouses offer direct access. Fully furnished with all the creature comforts one could possibly desire, this is what we call glamping in style.
With six cabins all located right along the Guadalupe River, these treehouses take your imaginative childhood playtime to a whole new level. Pictured here is Birdseye Perch, which sleeps up to eight guests and features two bedrooms, one bath.
You'll be within walking distance to direct river access and just minutes away from all the activities River Road has to offer. Kayak and tube outfitters are all around, so it takes no time at all to get out on the water. Trout are plentiful in the area, so hire a fly-fishing guide and see if you can get a bite!
A full kitchen and plenty of living space foster the perfect environment for friends and family to relax and connect on a deep level. Cook a homemade dinner, open a bottle of wine, and play some board games as you disconnect from reality and revel in the seclusion.
Head up the spiral staircase to the incredibly spacious master suite. Both bedrooms are level with the treetops, so guests are lulled to sleep by the sound of leaves gently rustling outside their window. Also upstairs is a fully functioning bathroom complete with a walk-in shower.
Enjoy your cup of morning coffee on this private deck, furnished with tables and chairs so everyone has a place to sit. Imagine leisurely waking to the blissful stillness of nature at dawn, her silence broken only by the birds chirping their hellos.
Hammocks, picnic tables, fire pits, and a large grassy area to hang out on make spending time indoors rather difficult (even though the cabin is gorgeous). Not the worst problem to have, wouldn't you agree?
