Gape at the hippos, capybaras, and lions. There’s even an incredible petting zoo, so you can see some of the animals up close! Capital of Texas Zoo is home to over 500 rare animals. With so much to see, you could make a whole afternoon out of this amazing outing.
Tank the hippo loves meeting zoo guests. At over 4,000 pounds, he is definitely a sight to see. If you really want a unique experience, you can book a hippo encounter and feed him some treats!
Of course, that's not the only animal encounter you can schedule. At The Capital of Texas Zoo, you can play with dingo puppies, feed prairie dogs, and meet a giant nine-foot-tall camel!
The Capital of Texas Zoo even has a junior keeper program that's perfect for kids between the ages of 13 and 18. Here, animal lovers can gain hands on experience and learn all about the magnificent species.
