Pierogi are like little packets of pure joy, and you can get them with a variety of fillings so they’re either sweet or savory. These versatile little dumplings are found in restaurants that specialize in Central and Eastern European cuisine, and if you’ve never tried them, you’ll want to head to Brama Restaurant in Austin, where you’ll find wonderfully authentic pierogi.
Brama Restaurant opened its door last summer, and locals here know that it's the best place for pierogi in the city.
Everything on the menu is made from scratch, including the pierogi, which are the house specialty. They're hand-made right here in the kitchen every day.
For lunch or dinner, get your pierogi with meat or vegetable fillings. The chef often experiments with different fillings so ask your server what's new. You can choose from boiled pierogi...
...or get them fried. The boiled ones have a wonderful, tender texture; when they're fried they're more crispy on the outside. Either way, they're scrumptious.
The best thing about pierogi is that you can eat them for dinner and dessert! Try the sweet farmer cheese pierogi with blackcurrant preserve for a special treat.
Brama Restaurant offers Russian and German cuisine, and you'll find all kind of tasty entrees on the menu. Choose from schnitzel, stroganoff, kielbasa, grilled veal tongue and more. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here.
Brama Restaurant is open for lunch Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.. It's open for dinner Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and til 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Stop by for Sunday brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Check out the entire menu on Brama Restaurant’s website, and make sure to follow the restaurant’s Facebook page to see what’s new there.
