The original Bertram train station was constructed in 1882. It served the community until 1937 but, like many things, fell victim to progress decades later. It was eventually demolished, but residents always missed that relic of days gone by.

Thanks to the generous donations from the George Peters family, Bertram became the new home of a similar train depot from Orange Grove, Texas. Though not the original building, it has the same pleasant charm and rich history.
