The 1980s were a pretty cool time to grow up, and Austin was particularly awesome. We had some of the best music in the country, and some really rad places to hang out with our friends. Most of these places have sadly been replaced, or have closed. Do you remember these things from the 1980s?

1. You probably went to a lot of birthday parties at Pandamonium Playland. That place was great!

2. The Armadillo World Headquarters was THE place to go for concerts, and the Skating Palace was where you practiced your cool moves - just like Olivia Newton John in "Xanadu."

3. You watched Austin City Limits with your parents and either loved or hated Willie Nelson.

4. You spent a lot of time doing homework at the new Faulk Central Library (built in 1979).

5. Maybe you were lucky enough to see Butthole Surfers or The Big Boys at Les Amis Cafe.

6. You wore your Reeboks everywhere you went.

7. You loved the field of pink flamingos in front of the garden shop on the corner of Bee Cave Rd and Loop 360.

8. You dropped off your film and picked up your photos here.

9. You spent all your allowance at Le Fun Arcade on Guadalupe.

10. When you wanted to be cool like the guys on the Rangers or Astros, you chewed this instead of the real stuff.
