Nothing turns back the hands of time quite like playing our favorite childhood video games. Luckily, there’s a place right here in Texas where you can do just that. Pinballz is an Austin-based arcade with classic games from the ’80s and ’90s. Check it out:
Judging by exterior alone, you'd never guess the massive amount of fun hiding in this unassuming building. Pinballz Arcade, with two locations in Austin and one in Buda, is a '90s-themed wonderland where your inner child can come out to play.
Befittingly, the largest collection of pinball machines in Texas can be found here. Lining every wall, the impressive lineup is guaranteed to transport you back in time a few decades.
Skee-ball is the ultimate throwback to childhood. Grab a friend and engage in some healthy competition, seeing who can rack up the most points and dunks into that elusive corner hole.
All three arcades have special attractions that take the fun to a whole different level. Laser tag, bumper cars, an escape room, mini-bowling, a virtual reality arena, and several other modern attractions help balance out the nostalgia.
The two newer locations offer full bars with dozens of on-tap drinks plus restaurants serving mouthwatering scratch-made food. While the original Pinballz doesn't feature those perks, its BYOB policy is a close second.
You'll find the original Pinballz at 183 & Burnet
8940 Research Blvd.
Austin, TX 78758, while the other two are located at 183 & Lake Creek
13729 Research Blvd.
Austin, TX 78750 and 15201 S IH 35
Buda, TX 78610.
