The Largest Waterpark In Tennessee Is Guaranteed Fun For The Whole Family
If you’ve ever spent a summer in the heart of the American south, then you know that it gets HOT in the sunny months. Tennessee tends to lean towards the wildly humid, so locals and tourists alike find themselves searching for relief during the dog days of summer. Wilderness at the Smokies is made up of three waterparks, and as the largest park of its kind in the state, it makes for an unforgettable experience.

Located in gorgeous Sevierville, Wilderness at the Smokies is the perfect destination for any waterpark lovers out there. They actually have not one, not two, but THREE distinct waterparks on their property.

The most famous section of waterpark is the Wild Waterdome, the largest indoor waterpark in Tennessee. Thanks to a high-tech glass roof, this 66,000-square-foot park makes it feel like a perfect summer day no matter what time of the year it is.

Heading outside, the Lake Wilderness park is chock full of waterslides, including some of the tallest in Tennessee. There's also an expansive pool area and a lazy river, if that's more your speed.

The last part of the park is the Salamander Springs area, which is home to some smaller slides and toddler pools, perfect for any kiddos who want to join in on the fun safely.

By far the greatest draw at Wilderness, though, is the indoor waterpark. They have everything from raft slides to a wave pool to a Wave Runner surf machine.

Outside, one of the most popular slides is the "Wild Vortex" slide. Guests step onto a trap door in the vertical slide and then get dropped into a 39-foot free-fall. It's one of the most unique adrenaline rushes you'll find anywhere!

Day passes to the park range from $29 on off days to $49 on peak summer days. The indoor park is open year-round, but the outdoor parks are only open from April to the end of September. We'll see you there! Address: 1425 Old Knoxville Highway, Sevierville, TN 37876
