The sweet thing about Rutledge Falls is that it's privately owned, but the owners have created a bit of a parking lot for visitors. Make sure to clean up and respect their land while having ALL the fun, folks! You can also take a short drive from Rutledge Falls and hike to see 3 waterfalls in one place. The Short Springs Natural Area is a great addition to this waterfall swimming hole.
5. Rock Island State Park - Rock Island State Park
Rock Island State Park is one of the only spots that offers a sandy, semi-beach in the middle of the continental US. The deep swimming holes in the area make this perfect for those of us over the age of 18. (Sheepishly raises hand...) If you prefer to gently glide over the water this is an enchanting place to paddle your kayak.
