Ruby Falls is located under Chattanooga's famous Lookout Mountain, and it's been consistently named one of the most incredible cave waterfalls in the world.

While you can see incredible views from their location at the top of Lookout Mountain, the real show is underground. Ruby Falls is the deepest commercial cave in America, and its features are absolutely stunning.

The cave is more than 1,000 feet underground, and tours are provided daily. The tour takes visitors down an elevator shaft to the cave, and a short walk through the cave leads everyone to the cave's crown jewel: the waterfall.

Ruby Falls is 145 feet tall and cascades into a pool that eventually drains out to the Tennessee River at the base of the mountain. Guests are able to walk around the pool, behind the falls, giving them a truly unique experience.

The falls were originally discovered when excavators were drilling an elevator shaft to the lower Lookout Mountain Caverns. Originally, both were accessible to the public, but the Lookout Mountain Caverns were closed off due to Ruby Falls' greater popularity.

Ruby Falls is open every day from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and tickets can be purchased online at the Ruby Falls website. You can visit the falls yourself in Chattanooga at 1720 South Scenic Hwy.
