My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
We have some pretty amazing rivers here in our state, and the mighty Tennessee River is a favorite of many. The beautiful scenery and proximity to two large cities help to make it easy to get to. In Knoxville, the Volunteer Landing Marina makes great use of the river by offering guests party boat rentals for the day. So when you want to spend a day in the sun and the water you can head on over to start your adventure.
The marina is located right along the Tennesse River only minutes from the busy downtown area.
In fact, there is a trail right behind it called the James-White Greenway, which follows the river and offers a great place to stretch your legs. The Volunteer Landing Park is also a great place to see the water and is very close to the marina: enjoy a stroll in the morning, then head on down to spend some time in the water!
They have a couple of options when it comes to which boat to choose, but all of them can accommodate up to eight people. You can even rent out a boat that is pet friendly to bring along your furry companion.
These party boats are perfect to do some tubing and wakeboarding. I have spent many summer days flying behind a boat in an intertube and there is nothing quite like it. These boats will give you a thrilling and fun experience that will keep you busy for hours.
The scenery is incredible -- cut the engine and float for a while and enjoy the still of the river. Allow the cadence of the water to bob you back and forth for a relaxing afternoon.
Boat rentals are all due back at the marina by 6 p.m., so to enjoy the sunset we suggest you head to the Volunteer Landing Park and watch the heavens transform into a cotton candy sky sunset from the shore!
Whenever you visit Knoxville, make sure you take full advantage of the beautiful Tennessee River. Spend some time walking by the water, spending time in the park, and of course, renting you and your friends a party boat at the Marina.
