Tennessee in the springtime is arguably one of the most beautiful places in the greater United States. The rolling hills erupt in lush greenery, the fields flower, and the strawberries? Well, they ripen through the warmth of the springtime sunlight and find themselves ready and rarin’ for the picking. Although there are many u-pick farms in Tennessee, a visit to Valley Home Farm in Wartrace is one of our favorite warmer weather traditions – and the bakery only adds to our enthusiasm!
Valley Home Farm opened in Wartrace, Tennessee in 2000, and is now celebrating almost two decades entrenched in the Middle Tennessee farming community.
The farm also offers up jams, jellies and fresh bakery items throughout the spring and summer season. Operated by the Potts Family, who also own 2 Sister's Catering, you know you'll be taking home a high quality treat.
The farm announces their official season opening day via their Facebook page every year, since the weather and season tend to differ from year to year.
The 2019 strawberry picking season will hopefully begin in late April or early May, and will run through early June. It's short, but bursting with fun and fruity flavor!
The fresh strawberry cakes are by far the most popular baked good for sale, baked fresh on the farm every season using the family's secret recipe. Topped with strawberry cream cheese icing and covered in strawberries, this is a truly decadent summertime treat.
Whether you're looking for a dreamy strawberry cake, vanilla pound cake, strawberry bread for a late afternoon tea session or maybe just a simple jar of jam, the Valley Home Farm Country Store is a prime spot for delicious baked goods.
Of course, there are all sorts of baked goods available during the season. Golden pound cake, chocolate dipped strawberries, frozen treats...the list goes on and on!
Make sure you visit and indulge for yourself at 310 Potts Road in Wartrace, Tennessee this spring season. Valley Home Farms is truly a Tennessee gem, and it's well worth a visit.
