Farm-to-table dining experiences have become a highly popular way to eat out in recent years, and the lush, rolling landscape of Tennessee lends itself to fresh gardens and crops. Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen is a Memphis, Tennessee restaurant that focuses mainly on old-world Italian dining with a Southern spin. The humble restaurant may look just like a low-key home from the exterior, but the monochromatic facade hides a warm, inviting interior with pasta you just might fall in love with. Don’t believe us? Then you may want to check out this farm-to-table restaurant in Tennessee for yourself!
Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen is an elevated Italian restaurant located in Memphis, Tennessee. It is known for its cozy ambiance, seasonal menu, and farm-to-fork design. The restaurant was formulated in 2008 and has since come to promote innovative dishes with a Southern flair.
Andrew Michael was founded with Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman at the helm, both of whom were awarded the Best New Chefs Award by Food & Wine in 2013, and named the Kentucky-Tennessee Rising Star Chefs of Starchefs.com in 2014. Although the culinary team has opened multiple other restaurants, including the wildly popular Hog & Hominy, it's at their Italian eatery that it all began.
Expect a warm, cozy ambiance with fresh flavors on the menu and Southern hospitality in spades. The menu is firmly traditional, as are the seating arrangements. Make sure you make a reservation just to be safe!
Order favorites like lasagna, spaghetti, and bucatini from the pasta menu, and fresh focaccia bread and crispy calamari round out the antipasti options. Andrew Michael sources herbs and vegetables from the on-site garden, so flavors remain bright throughout the year.
You can eat either inside or outside, but we would recommend a seat on the patio. The farm-to-table focus means that you will be eating fresh plants on your plate and enjoying fresh air during your meal. It's a treat for all the senses!
Make sure you keep an eye on the Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen website for event updates and special dining opportunities. WTF Wednesday takes place on the last Wednesday of every month and for a single ticketed cost you will have the chance to enjoy a 4-course meal prepared off-menu by the chefs.
Have you been to the Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen? Will you be making a reservation the next time you're in Memphis? Although there is no delivery option, you can take advantage of the dine-in and takeout opportunities.
