The scary thing about this spot is that the town is UNDERWATER. Yep. Legend has it that there's a flooded town under the water. So take a hike and take a look...who knows what you may find?

The original town of Newsom's Landing was built in 1808, after which it was damaged in a flood. By 1862 the local mill had it up and prosperous again. But now it's completely abandoned, only a couple of stone structures still stand.

Although Salem-Overall is slowly being eaten by Murfreesboro, we've found the exact coordinates - yep, we go deep - to the abandoned area. You can still find spots like this chimney above that remember the days of the past.

Originally known as Bald Hill, the town of Wheat was once a successful city. It was after "The Secret City" lapsed that the town became pretty much extinct - although? You can still see the George Jones Missionary Church. It's the final ode to the past.

The area was first populated as a results of the Little River Logging Camp in the 1800s. It grew into a vacation spot when folks recognized the beauty of the area, and a ring of summer cottages was born. The land was bought out by the national park and leases were run down to the quick in the '90s, after which the entire town was abandoned.

Once a bustling town with multiple shops, the Mt. LeConte hotel and a school, the land was left to itself after the population faltered - you can still see remnants of the once bustling city though, if you look.
