My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Hiding within the forest lies a brilliantly beautiful rock quarry and several rental properties that are, quite simply, breathtaking. This treehouse in Johnson City, Tennessee, is nothing short of magical, and as soon as I saw it I knew I couldn’t help but share this piece of art. This treehouse truly has it all; it is charming and rustic, and yet enchanting and romantic all at the same time. When you are looking for a unique stay look no further than this rental which is affectionately known as The Bostonian Treehouse.
While some people see ruins, visionary creatives see a piece of art just waiting to be created.
Once neglected and overlooked, this property has an interesting story of restoration that is just as intriguing as a night stay in the treehouse. For years, this area served as a rock quarry until they found a source of water and no longer could continue the work. The land had seemingly become useless and was used, if you can believe it, as a car junkyard. The owners, however, saw the potential to reclaim the natural space and create one of the most beautiful properties we have here in Johnson City. After clearing the tires, cars, and truckloads of scrap metal, the land blossomed and flourished. What is left is a stunning sapphire pool creating a gorgeous backdrop for some unique stays like the Bostonian Treehouse.
Being surrounded by trees on this 34-acre property feels like you are miles and miles away from civilization, but in actuality you are only minutes from town. Similarly, this treehouse offers an experience like you have stepped into a whole new world when you open the door.
The Bostonian has a loft bedroom with a queen bed, and downstairs you can find a separate room off of the main living space with two twin beds. This treehouse can easily be used as a family trip or can be used as a romantic getaway.
Little touches around the house make this treehouse incredibly unique. The ceiling is lined with old wooden doors and you can find a tree on the wall. These artistic touches add to the appeal and give you something interesting to look at in every nook and cranny.
Every inch of the house is designed to optimize a relaxing stay. Unplug and unwind while connecting to the ones you love the most, all while enjoying the jaw-dropping surroundings -- inside and outside.
The chairs on the outside deck are fascinatingly unique. Made out of old logs, these seats are more "art" than furniture. Nonetheless, you can sit and enjoy the tranquility and peace found only by the water. Listen to the distant waterfall and the birds chirping -- a beautiful symphony that is music to my ears.
This stunning treehouse in Johnson City, Tennessee, is truly one of a kind. The story is just as fascinating as walking around the property and admiring the artwork of The Bostonian and the surrounding natural area. This property stands as a testament to what we can do with a vision for the future and a creative use for unwanted spaces. The owners have used this space as a popular wedding venue and have also built two other one-of-a-kind rentals on-site. Make sure you check out the Waterstone Venue for more information about booking for a wedding, then check out the Hobbit House, and the Greek Cottage. Trust me when I say there is nothing quite like them found anywhere else.
