Tennessee is known as Ol’ Rocky Top, the Volunteer State, the home to some of the prettiest mountains in the world and fields of flowers that burst open in the springtime. We’re proud of our gorgeous southern state and aren’t afraid to show it. Still, with so many pretty spaces it can be hard to choose just one. That’s why we decided to stay away from the eastern side of the state and give you a stunning, panoramic view of southern Tennessee.
Snoopers Rock Trail can be found in southern Tennessee, just short of Chattanooga. The moderately rated trail is great for a majority of ages, and results in some of the prettiest views in the state.

The out-and-back trail is mainly used for hiking, birding, and a handful of other nature trips. We'd recommend you visit from March through October, and only bring Fido if he's on a leash. Otherwise, he's more than welcome!

Along the way, you'll pass through gorgeous spaces full of foliage, numerous streams and a handful of rock formations. Plus, the view at the end? It's one of the best in the state. You won't see the Tennessee River Gorge any better than here.
The hike is roughly six miles and has a few solid increases in elevation along the trail. Still, it's considered a moderate walk that shouldn't serve as a deterrent.
You really can't beat a panoramic view from a rocky Tennessee out-cropping - you just can't.
Keep in mind, however, that the area does serve as a hunting area during certain points of the year. The hiking trail will close during these times, so make sure to check the Tennessee State Park website for closures and hunting dates.
