My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
When you hear a rustling in the woods, could it be a bear? A raccoon? Or lurking off in the distance could it be the elusive and mysterious creature of the woods known as a Bigfoot? Have you ever had those thoughts while hiking in the deep dark forest? Or like many of us, you’ve happily hopped on board with the Yeti craze that is happening right now? If you are a true believer or a casual fan of the mysterious, we have the perfect place for you. The Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Festival is coming to Tennessee soon to celebrate everyone’s favorite hide-and-seek champion.
Right along the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, you can find the Townsend Visitor Center, where the 3rd annual Bigfoot Festival will be held.
This might very well be the perfect place for Yetis to hide in the woods, because after all, this is the "quiet side of the Smokies." However, this elusive creature will be making an appearance at this upcoming event, ready to meet all his adoring fans.
This one-day festival will have a variety of activities throughout the day.
Food trucks will be parked ready to feed the hungry visitors, and many vendors will be available. You don’t need to be a seasoned cryptozoologist to enjoy the vendors, either -- sure there will be some serious researchers displaying their findings, but they also will also have artistic bigfoot creations of all shapes and sizes.

Kids are welcome to join in on all the cryptid fun.
There will be face painting, bounce houses, and even a scavenger hunt. The mysteries still yet to be discovered about this big, hairy creature certainly invokes child-like wonder, so of course kids will get wrapped up in the stories of bigfoot too.
Cover bands and a saxophone playing yeti known as “Saxsquatch” have all made an appearance during past events. Back by popular demand, the guitar-shredding bigfoot known as "Slashsquatch" will be wooing fans with face-melting guitar solos.
Not that everything mysterious comes back to aliens, but…
...there will be special guest speakers giving presentations during the festival and none other than the famed host of Ancient Aliens, Giorgio A. Tsoukalos himself will be there. Along with other famed individuals like Turtleman, The Mountain Monsters crew, and other leading experts in the field of Cryptozoology.
The Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Festival will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Townsend Visitor Center. So make sure you come and be on the lookout for some sasquatch running around.
You may be a skeptic, but when you think of the vastness of the forest in the Smoky Mountains, there could be just about anything hiding within the deep covering of the treetop canopies. Lurking in the shadows you never know what you might find. This festival could inspire you to get outside and do a little monster hunting yourself.
The Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Festival is coming up soon so make sure you get yourself ready for a wild good time. With the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains as a backdrop this fun festival couldn’t have found a better home. To get your tickets and for any more information about this event please be sure to follow the Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Festival Facebook page.
