My name is Chris Dodge and I live right here in the great state of Tennessee. My family and I are full adventurers filled with passion to see the amazing things our state has to offer. We are avid hikers and have explored many different places in Tennessee and beyond but we are always thankful to be living in such a glorious state.
There is a little restaurant out in the middle of the country and it’s truly a hidden treasure. Friends, allow me to introduce y’all to the Smokin’ F in Philadelphia, Tennessee, where they’re are all about faith, family, farm, food, and freedom. One visit is all it will take to see all of those on full display, and, of course, the BBQ is truly delectable.
Driving through the beautiful countryside of Loudon County you will find sprawling farmlands, stunning views, and lots of picturesque pastures. Amidst the scenery, you can also find Smokin’ F; it may be a little out of the way, but trust us when we say this BBQ joint is worth the trip.
Open every Friday and Saturday, a night at the Smokin’ F isn’t a mere dinner, it's an entire experience. You may have heard that BBQ brings people together and that couldn’t be more true at this fine establishment.
There is live music by local acoustic artists most nights, but once a month, they bring out a full band. Those nights are filled with a lot more energy and excitement, but one thing that always gets me excited is a big butcher block of smoked meats.
The owners are Texas natives and have brought that famous style to Tennessee for everyone to enjoy. You can buy meat in half-pound measurements, or get a loaded BBQ sandwich. They also have all your favorite sides to accompany your mouthwatering entrees.
Smokin’ F is also part of Loudon Country’s BBQ Trail, a foodie adventure that challenges individuals to try out four different barbecue pits in the area to win prizes.
If you are bummed out that Smokin F' is only open on Fridays and Saturdays I understand, but if your cravings for BBQ are strong I have good news. Around lunchtime on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, you can find the Smokin’ F food truck! They have a schedule on their website (link below) with a calendar locating where they will be parked throughout the month.
If you stuff yourself silly with succulent brisket and need a place to crash for the night, there is a cozy guest house nearby that is perfect for a little post-BBQ R&R. Stay in this Gnome guest house to explore all there is in the area.
Just thinking about the Texas-style BBQ from The Smokin’ F in Philadelphia, Tennessee, gets my mouth watering every time! If you are interested in learning more about this fantastic place please visit The Smokin’ F website.
Looking to walk off some of that meal? Take a hike on the nearby Hall Bend Trail which takes you right on the water’s edge.
